Attempting to resolve the issue which reports the error:
The SDDL string contains an invalid sid or a sid that cannot be translated.
Log in as the built-in Administrator account
Create a new user account for the Search Service, e.g. searchservice
Add the new Search Service account to the local WSSADMINWPG group
Open up SharePoint Management Shell.
and enter the following:
$SearchService = Get-Credential <MACHINENAME\SEARCHSERVICE>
i.e. $SearchService = Get-Credential WIN-AV8T561MOV0\SEARCHSERVICE
with the account you just created
Hit enter and then enter the account’s password
Then enter:
New-SPManagedAccount -Credential $SearchService
Launch Central Administration (as the built-in Admin account)
Go to Security, Service Accounts, and change the Search Service to the new managed account
Here a message was initially displayed identifying that that user does not have permission to perform this action, but the account for the service does appear to be set-up and, if run again it also appears to process successfully:
Go to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\Data\Office Server” and find the directory that starts with Analytics. It should be “Analytics_<GUID>”.
Right-click, Properties, Sharing, and click Advanced Sharing
Check the “Share this folder’ checkbox, leave the Share name alone and click on Permissions
Leave Everyone having Read (for now), Add the Search Service account you created and select Full Control. Do the same and add WSSADMINWPG with Full Control. Click OK
Rerun the SharePoint 2013 Configuration Wizard
Run the SharePoint 2013 Configuration Wizard again. It should move on to step 9, then 10 and finish (rerunning some of the earlier steps).
With the configuration now moving past step 8:
And Completing successfully
Microsoft SharePoint 2013 release-to-manufacturing successfully configured.
Restart the Server and use SharePoint 2013 release-to-manufacturing.
Install SharePoint 2013 Designer if required.
